Postcard Brainstorming

You will need to complete a brainstorming worksheet and two sketches for this project. 

 

Visual Identity Sheet

1. Create a new folder in your Final and title it “Postcard ”. 

2. Then you can create a new folder inside there that is titled “Brainstorming”. 

3. Create a new doc titled "Postcard Visual Identity Brainstorming Sheet”  and copy and paste the brainstorming form.

 

Sketches

Use your inspiration pieces while working on your sketches. Two sketches will need to be completed of the front of the postcard only. Included the required elements. You need to think about how you will represent the identity of the location through your design and make specific and detailed notes about this.

 

Sketch Requirements:

1. Graphics and specifics about how you will be creating these graphics

2. Notes about colors and details

3. Notes about the visual identity and how you will use the information you gathered in your brainstorming sheet on this design. 

 

Brainstorming Turn-in Directions:

1. Take a photo of your sketches. Make sure you get a clean picture.

2. Upload your two images to your Brainstorming folder in your Postcard folder.

3. Save the Brainstorming rubric correctly.

 

Brainstorming Rubric - copy and paste into your own Google Doc titled Rubric - Postcard Brainstorming and save it into your Postcard>Brainstorming folder.

Due Date: End of Class

Invitation Brainstorming

You will need to find inspiration and submit sketches for your invitation brainstorming. 

 

Inspiration (~10 mins)

1. Create a new folder in your Final and title it “Invitation”.

2. Create a new folder inside the Invitation folder and title it “Brainstorming”.

3. On Google, look for at least five invitation designs that you can use for inspiration. Drop these images into your Brainstorming. Be prepared to share why you feel that these invitations are successful. 

 

Sketches

Use your inspiration pieces while working on your sketches. Two sketches will need to be completed and all the included required elements need to be used too. 

 

Required Elements to Include:

1. Event Title or Name

2. Time and Date

3. Event Details

4. Graphics

5. Notes about colors and details

 

Brainstorming Turn-in Directions:

1. Take a photo of your sketches with your phone or Photobooth. Make sure you get a clean picture.

2. Upload your two images to your Brainstorming folder in your Invitation folder.

3. Save the Brainstorming rubric correctly.

 

Brainstorming Rubric - copy and paste into your own Google Doc titled Rubric - Invitation Brainstorming and save it into your Invitation>Brainstorming folder. 

Tuesday 8/25
Year 2020 Brainstorming

You will start the brainstorming by collecting 5 inspiration pieces. Then you will sketch your concept to get your creativity going. You may be limited in terms of being able to recreate your sketch digitally, due to not being able to use the Adobe software. That is OK. Sketch your grand idea anyways, make strong and detailed notes and this will help you move forward. 

 

Class Brainstorming Thoughts

Step 1: Inspiration Pieces

1. Create a new folder in your Final and title it “Year 2020”. 

2. Create another folder inside and call it “Brainstorming”. 

3. Create a new Doc inside there and title “lastName_BrainstormingInspiration”. 

4. Find at least 5 inspiration pieces and place them onto your Doc. 

5. At the bottom, write at least 3 sentences explaining what elements you like about these inspiration pieces. 

 

Step 2: Sketches

Once you have your inspiration pieces, you are ready to sketch. You only need to sketch 1 idea for this project.

Sketch Requirements

1. Very detailed notes about colors or add color. 

2. Very detailed notes about the skills and tools you will be using to create this design.

1. Take a photo of your sketches with your phone. Make sure you get a clean picture. 

2. Upload the image to your Brainstorming folder. If you need help with this, make sure you ask for help! 

3. Save the Brainstorming rubric correctly.
